News: Space Inspiration: A Cosmic Adventure for Young Minds!

We're thrilled to announce the success of our "Space Inspiration" project, a fantastic collaboration with the "Soundlessness" association! This exciting initiative aimed to ignite a passion for space in young children through an immersive and creative experience.

A Day Among the Stars: We welcomed a class from a local kindergarten to the music school for a two-hour adventure filled with: • Cosmic Cinema: Engaging films that transported the children to the far reaches of the universe. • Creative Colouring: Fun colouring activities that allowed their imaginations to soar among the stars. • Melodic Journeys: Music sessions that explored the sounds of space, fostering a unique connection between art and science.

As the cosmic melodies filled the air, the children's faces lit up with pure delight. Giggles and joyful shouts echoed through the music school as they eagerly experimented with various instruments, their small hands exploring drums, shakers, and keyboards. Each note played, whether harmonious or hilariously off-key, was met with unbridled enthusiasm, transforming the learning experience into a vibrant symphony of fun and discovery.

Our Mission:
The "Space Inspiration" project was designed to: • Spark Curiosity: Introduce young minds to the wonders of space in an accessible and engaging way. • Foster Creativity: Encourage artistic expression through space-themed activities. • Promote Collaboration: Showcase the power of partnership between our association and "Soundlessness" in delivering enriching educational experiences.
The project was a resounding success, leaving the children with beaming smiles and a newfound appreciation for the cosmos!

News: Sarajevo Accessibility Mapping: Inclusive Navigation for All

Sarajevo is launching an innovative project to create a comprehensive, interactive 360-degree digital map of accessible routes and venues. This initiative aims to empower people with disabilities, including those with limited mobility and vision impairments, to confidently navigate the city.

Our Vision: Empowering Independent Navigation

Currently, Sarajevo lacks a detailed accessibility map. This project will bridge that gap, providing essential tools and information for independent city navigation.

Key Objectives:

Map Accessible Pathways: Document wheelchair-accessible routes and points of interest. Capture 360-degree Visuals: Record immersive footage of streets and buildings, highlighting accessibility. Develop Interactive Map: Create an online, user-friendly map for planning routes and independent navigation. Boost Public Awareness: Raise awareness about accessibility issues and promote inclusive urban planning.

How We're Doing It:

Data Collection: Using 360-degree cameras to record accessibility features like ramps and tactile paving.
Mapping & Classification: Categorising accessible routes and integrating accessibility-friendly landmarks.
Platform Development: Building a user-friendly online map with search filters and audio-guided routes.
Awareness & Outreach: Engaging with the disability community and partnering with local organisations to improve accessibility.

Expected Outcomes:

Inclusive Navigation: Increased independence and confidence for people with disabilities in Sarajevo. Comprehensive Map: A detailed online resource of accessible routes and venues[cite: 17]. Increased Awareness: Greater understanding among businesses and policymakers on accessible urban spaces.

Timeline & Budget:

The project spans eight months, with an estimated total cost of BAM 50,000.

Join Us:
We are seeking partnerships with local government, NGOs, and private sponsors to support this vital initiative. The Sarajevo Accessibility Mapping Project will not only enhance lives in Sarajevo but also serve as a model for other cities, inspiring broader changes in urban planning

News: Recycling Education Project: A Resounding Success!

Sarajevo recently witnessed a highly successful Recycling Education Project, a collaborative initiative celebrating World Environment Day on June 5th. This pilot project, spearheaded by BOAA (Bosnian outdoor Activites Association), aimed to educate the younger generation on waste recycling, specifically focusing on plastics, glass, and cans. The project's success was a testament to the grateful cooperation of all participating organisations, fostering a strong foundation for future environmental stewardship.

Project Highlights:

Engaging the Youth: Year 5 pupils from Hasan Kikic School were at the heart of this project. They actively participated in collecting pre-washed plastic bottles, a hands-on experience to highlight the importance of picking up rubbish. The school fully supported this initiative.

Recycling in Action: The children were transported by GRAS buses to the RAD recycling depot There, RAD staff provided a valuable presentation and demonstrated the use of the new plastic, glass, and can recycling machines, emphasising the available refund options, including free entry to the Zoo.

A Day of Learning and Fun: Following the recycling demonstration, the children enjoyed a trip to Pionirska dolina Zoo, facilitated by GRAS transportation. A representative from the Zoo welcomed the children, allowing access with their recycling-earned tickets. The day's agenda included an educational tour and free time for play.

Promoting Key Partnerships:

The project successfully highlighted the crucial roles of local partners in promoting recycling. Key collaborators included:

BOAA: The driving force behind the initiative, dedicated to benefiting outdoor activities and promoting outdoor life in schools.
Hasan Kikic School: Enthusiastic participants, whose Year 5 pupils were instrumental in the project's hands-on activities.
GRAS: Provided free bus tickets and full-day transport, ensuring smooth logistics for the children's journey.
RAD: Hosted the recycling demonstration, showcasing their machines and educating children on the recycling process and refund options.
Pionirska dolina (Zoo): Offered a rewarding incentive with free entry tickets for recycled items, providing an enjoyable and educational experience for the children.
OSCE: Supported the idea with free packed lunchesand representatives engaged in discussions.

Achieving Our Goals:

This pilot project successfully proved the viability of reverse recycling vending machines and educated the youth about recycling. It effectively promoted the companies leading the recycling process and initiated discussions for a program to install reverse recycling vending machines in more schools.

Looking Ahead:

The success of this project lays a strong foundation for future initiatives. BOAA, in grateful cooperation with all partners, is eager to explore opportunities to expand this program, potentially making it a regular project in schools throughout BiH. The positive feedback from the school and the commitment from partners like GRAS and OSCE demonstrate a shared vision for a more sustainable future.
